How a Good Bedroom Design Can Boost Your Confidence
Mar 24th, 2009 by admin

Do you know that your bedroom is responsible for who you are right now.

Your own bedroom is the place which you see last when you go to sleep and also is the first place you see when you wake in the morning.

These two are the times of the day when you are most receptive to receive any messages, good or bad.

Hey, what did I say? Good or Bad. Yes, it’s true, anything you see, feel, touch, smell, listen to at this time of the day will contribute in making your “personality”, no matter whether it works for you or not.

That’s why you can make use of this fundamental reality to unconsciously program yourself almost automatically, by taking care of your bedroom. In short you can “design” your bedroom as a self help tool.

The term “design” in itself has a much wider scope. Design is not just color scheme, materials, lighting, furniture and its arrangement in the bedroom. It includes the personality of the person who is going to use it.

While in a bedroom, a person is more relaxed, feels more secured and is open minded to accept more positive messages. That’s why it is necessary to understand the personality of a person before designing his/her bedroom.

His/her likes/dislikes, moods, what motivates him/her can affect the entire bedroom design strategy. This design strategy includes the type of furniture to be used (iron, wood, cane contemporary), color schemes to be used (cool, warm, composite) types of flooring materials(tiles, carpets, wooden floors, PVC floors), the overall theme of the bedroom(oriental, contemporary)

That’s why a good bedroom design is one which creates a feeling of security for it’s owner. Use of natural elements such as plants/flowers can greatly add to the motivational capacity of a bedroom space. Since plants and flowers already have a beauty of their own, can greatly enhance the aura of the bedroom.

A bedroom which is nothing but a full mess, is harmful for development of a healthy mind. A room full of clutter and unnecessary garbage gives a negative message to your subconscious. As far as possible, office work, computers should be avoided in a bedroom.

If there is a scarcity of space and such situation arises all care must be taken to keep the work clean and healthy. This requires a little effort, but payoffs are huge if done on a regular basis.

Choosing the right furniture

The furniture in a person’s home says a lot about personal style and taste. In effect, most of us spend endless hours searching for the perfect piece of furniture before we actually make a purchase. With the availability of furniture from so many different time periods and schools of design, the choice can sometimes be daunting.

Furniture can reflect many personality characteristics, from fun and flirty to classy and sophisticated to modern and edgy. How do you choose the right piece?

Showrooms generally sort furniture by room, and within these rooms the pieces are further distinguished by style. If you are looking for a Chippendale sofa, for example, you will certainly find it with living room furniture, but it probably won’t be placed next to the black suede chaise. Sometimes it can take a lot of patience to browse through furniture showrooms. Because your furniture will brand you, though, it will be worth your while to take your time and wait until you find what’s right for you.

There has a been a trend recently toward “studio furniture.” This furniture is built in a studio environment, not by a large factory manufacturer, and therefore tends to be more unique. Studio furniture makers view themselves as artists or craftsmen. Many learn their craft not through apprenticeship but through university-level design and art courses. Of course, original style often equals higher prices. Just as we pay more for designer clothing, we pay more for carefully crafted furniture. Studio furniture tends to be more contemporary but may be influenced by more traditional furniture styles.

Many buyers are drawn to antiques. Antique furniture often creates a regal air in a home. If combined creatively with more modern pieces, antiques can add flavor to even a contemporary styled room. Mixing and matching different styles of furniture is quite fashionable these days, if done correctly.

Regardless of style, it is imperative that the furniture you choose is solidly built. Spending a little more may be worth your while if the furniture is made with better materials, as it will prove more durable in the long run. There is always room for practicality in a furniture purchase.

Taking the Time to Find the Best Home Improvement Loans
Mar 16th, 2009 by admin

The best home improvement loans usually aren’t going to be the first loans that you encounter, but if you’re in the market for a loan to pay for repairs, expansions, or improvements to your home or other real estate then it might be worth your time to shop around before you decide on one loan or another.

Shopping around for the best home improvement loans isn’t a lot of work, though it can be a bit time consuming and requires quite a bit of legwork. In the end, though, you can save hundreds or even thousands of pounds by getting one of the best home improvement loans that you can, so the extra work is worth it.

Prepare your paperwork beforehand

Since you’re going to be visiting several banks and finance companies in your quest to find the best home improvement loans, it will be a great time-saver to have as much of the work done beforehand as you can.

Gather up recent bank statements, mortgage payment slips, paycheck stubs, tax filings, and other financial papers, organizing them in a folder and making photocopies that you can let the loan officer review.

Some banks and finance companies even have websites where you can download loan forms and other paperwork… not only does having a lot of the paperwork done beforehand save time, but it can impress the lenders and help you to get one of the best home improvement loans.

Getting multiple quotes

Finding the best home improvement loans is largely a matter of getting quotes from several different lenders and comparing them to see which one offers the best interest rate and loan terms.

You might even want to get quotes on loans of two different amounts to see if there’s a difference in rates… perhaps by reducing the amount that you borrow you can get the bank or finance company to drop the interest rate by a point or two.

Prepare your paperwork so that you can get a quote for both what you want to borrow and the absolute bare minimum that you can get away with; you might not want to settle for less, but by doing so you might secure one of the best home improvement loans.

Establish a relationship

Once you’ve decided on the loan that you want, try to talk to the same loan officer that you did before when you got your quote. Some lenders will automatically refer you to the same person, while some will not.

Talking to the same person helps to not only get them to remember you so you can get the best home improvement loans, but also can let remember you in the future and establish a relationship that can lead to better customer service and lower rates on future loans.
